About us
Blaydon Bunny Rescue was formed in August 2012. We started by taking in one rabbit then we got asked to take more, then one day we thought right we need help, so we started the rescue. From that day on we have had lots of amazing support and we estimate that so far we have rehomed around 100+ little furry bunnies.
We take in rabbits that are abandoned, lost or found, neglected or unwanted, they come from all over. In the past we have taken rabbits from Vets, Social Services, previous owners and even found them.
Once rabbits come to us, they stay with us for as long as we need to see what their personality is like. We then (if not already done, which in most cases not) get them neutered and the bond them with another rabbit. rabbits live better in pairs or groups.
When they have heeled from neuters and bonded in the correct way, we put them up for adoption. Home checks are carried out, if we are happy with the home that they are offered they can then be adopted. Adoption fees do apply at all times, these fees vary and they help us continue to care for the rabbits.
We would never ever have a rabbit put to sleep unless it was in really bad health and out vet advised us to do so.
